Providing showcases for culture and the arts has always been important to the residents of Lebanon. Whether it was at The Academy, the Lebanon Opera House, or today’s Cowan Civic Center, the city has always recognized the value of people coming together to celebrate and enjoy the arts. Visitors are welcome to share the experience.

Lebanon Art Guild
The Lebanon Art Guild promotes the work of Lebanon area artists and has now made those works available to all in their new gallery. The Lebanon Art Studio and Gallery: A Cultural Gathering Place is located at 227 W. Commercial, across from the Cowan Civic Center. Visit their website at http://lebanonartguild.tripod.com/. Open Thursday-Saturday from 12:00-5:00 p.m., the gallery provides an outlet for local artists to both create and sell their work.

“Art on the Farm,” the Art Guild’s major annual event, is held annually on the first weekend in June. And, yes, it is held at a working farm. Owned by Bill and Vera Harrill, the farm is east of Lebanon off Route 32 at 23488 Hwy. N. Look for the mural on the barn.

A wide variety of art in many different media is displayed during “Art on the Farm,” with many artists offering demonstrations. Much of the art on hand will be available for sale and some of it will be auctioned. Of course, there will also be refreshments and entertainment during the event.
